Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) and the Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC) in collaboration with Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs of Indonesia and Indonesia JCM Secretariat will jointly organize “Webinar on the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM*1) Implementation in Indonesia – Utilizing the JCM during the COVID-19 Period -” on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

Government of Japan is promoting dissemination of advanced low carbon or zero emission technologies through the Financing Programme for JCM Model Projects*2. The webinar will be participated by government officials and business leaders from both countries, and it aims at sharing overview and progress of JCM and facilitating project development and scaling up those future projects.

In addition, while the world will be greatly affected by the COVID-19, it may be possible to accelerate activities to realize a decarbonized society by utilizing the JCM Model Projects for green recovery. In this webinar, we will introduce good examples such as green recovery and countermeasures against the COVID-19 in the JCM Model Projects or related projects, as well as other financial support schemes, etc. and explore measures for the new era.

After the webinar, individual meetings will be arranged online between the companies that are considering implementing low carbon or zero emission technologies as JCM Model Projects and the companies that can provide relevant technologies. Also, individual consultation by JCM Indonesia Secretariat, GEC and Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be set up online for companies who would like to ask questions related to Financing Programme for JCM or ADB’s financial support.
