Energy Supply Project to Supplier by 40MW Solar Power + 39MWh Storage Battery in Kanchanaburi Province
- Representative Participant
- Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.
Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity
This project introduces a 40 MW ground-mount solar power plant equipment with a 39MWh storage system in the factory premises of Sica New Materials (Thailand) in Kanchanaburi Province. The generated electricity is used by the factory.
This project reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from local suppliers by replacing part of the electricity from the fossil fuel-derived grid power with renewable energy and contributes to reducing Scope 3 emissions of Shin-Etsu Chemical Group.
Expected GHG Emission Reductions
16,014 tCO2-eq./year
= Reference CO2 emissions [tCO2/year] – Project CO2 emissions [tCO2/year]
・ Reference CO2 emissions [tCO2/year]
= (Quantity of the electricity generated by the project) [MWh/year]
× Emission factor [tCO2/MWh]
・ Project CO2 emissions
= 0 [tCO2/year]
