Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

This project will conduct a demonstration of perovskite solar cell (PSC) systems in Thailand. PSCs are lightweight solar cells with excellent flexibility, and the project will integrate them with mounting frames, wiring, power generation monitoring IoT data devices, power conditioners, storage batteries, etc. as a system, depending on the scale of the installation.

The demonstration site will be Bangkok, Thailand, and the PSC will be attached to the walls and roofs of buildings to create a subtropical model of the PSC through the demonstration. In addition to the hot, humid climate and high levels of ultraviolet radiation, Thailand also faces the problem of air pollution caused by PM2.5 in urban areas. We will construct a PSC system that can withstand these environmental conditions, which can also be seen in other regions of Southeast Asian countries and evaluate the impact on the output characteristics and durability of the PSC. We will also revise and develop an EMS system to evaluate the suitability of PSC for electric mobility, which is popular in Thailand, in the future.

We will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by developing a model that can be introduced to offices, homes, electric mobility, etc.

Expected GHG Emission Reductions

1 tCO2-eq./year

*Demonstration

= (Reference CO₂ emissions) – (Project CO₂ emissions)

・ Reference CO₂ emissions = 1 [tCO₂/year]

・ Project CO₂ emissions = 0 [tCO₂/year]

*Total emission reductions during the demonstration period : 2 tCO₂

10,957 tCO2-eq./year

*At JCM Model Project

= (Reference CO₂ emissions) – (Project CO₂ emissions)

・ Reference CO₂ emissions = 10,957 [tCO₂/year]

・ Project CO₂ emissions = 0 [tCO₂/year]
