Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

Within the Improving Access to Health Services for Disadvantaged Groups Investment Program financed by ADB, the introduction of low-carbon technologies in to a new annex of Khan-uul district hospital is supported by JFJCM. The hospital serves the vulnerable populations living in the peri-urban areas of Ulaanbaatar city, which has one of the world’s worst levels of air pollution.  The proposed technologies include heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, high insulation windows and rooftop solar PV. Also, introduction of ground source heat pumps (GSHP) to three new family health centers is ßplanned. These technologies will contribute to the reduction of energy use from coal-fired power plants and help lower air pollution levels in Ulaanbaatar.
