Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

It is planned to study introduction of a methane fermentation facility having biogas utilization equipment by Kubota Corporation to wastewater, POME (Palm Oil Mill Effluent), from a palm oil mill located in Tanintharyi Division in southern Myanmar. The biogas from the proposed facility can be substituted for fossil fuel used to collection trucks of fresh fruits bunches and private power generation facilities in the mill. This results reduction of organic content in the wastewater and contributes suppression of methane emissions on the wastewater treatment ponds. The GHG reduction and the water environment improvement around the mill will significantly be achieved thereby.
