Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity
The project installs a 4.5MW run-of-river mini hydro power plant system which achieves highly efficient power generation across varying flow rates, and establishes higher reliability with Pelton Turbines in Piapi River, Quezon Province, Luzon Island.
This project generates electricity using a clean and renewable energy source, hydro power, and reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by replacing part of the electricity from the fossil fuel-derived grid power with renewable energy.
Expected GHG Emission Reductions
13,701 tCO2-eq./year
= Reference CO2 emissions [tCO2/year]
– Project CO2 emissions [tCO2/year]
・Reference CO2 emissions
= Quantity of the electricity generated by the project [MWh/year]
× Emission Factor [tCO2/MWh]
・Project CO2 Emissions
= 0 [tCO2/year]
