Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity
This project aims to demonstrate the production of green hydrogen and its utilization for heat generation and supply in the South Gobi region of Mongolia. The demonstration site will be located in South Gobi Province, where wind power will be utilized to produce green electricity, enabling the production of green hydrogen through water electrolyzer. The produced green hydrogen will be combusted in boilers to provide heat to off-takers, replacing coal-fired power plants and thereby reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This project will conduct technical verifications to ensure stable heat supply during harsh winter conditions in Mongolia and demonstrate technologies that can be scaled up in the future.
Expected GHG Emission Reductions
2,090 tCO2-eq./year
*Demonstration
= (Reference CO₂ emissions) – (Project CO₂ emissions)
・ Reference CO₂ emissions = 2,090 [tCO₂/year]
・ Project CO₂ emissions = 0 [tCO₂/year]
29,592 tCO2-eq./year
*At JCM Model Project
= (Reference CO₂ emissions) – (Project CO₂ emissions)
・ Reference CO₂ emissions = 29,592 [tCO₂/year]
・ Project CO₂ emissions = 0 [tCO₂/year]
