The Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) Center, with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) serving as its secretariat, will co-organize the “Business Forum on JCM Project Matchmaking and Advancing Article 6 Implementation in Bangladesh”, to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 7th December 2025.

This forum will be co-organized with the Department of Environment (DOE), Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change of Bangladesh and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ), Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC), JCM Implementation Agency (JCMA) and supported by Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JBCCI) along with other supporting organizations. The purpose of the Forum on Advancing Article 6 Implementation through Business Engagement and JCM Project Matchmaking for Carbon Markets in Bangladesh is to promote a practical understanding of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and its implementation through the formulation of Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) projects in Bangladesh.

The forum aims to deepen practical understanding of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and promote its implementation through the development of Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) projects in Bangladesh. It will highlight the latest developments in JCM, including bilateral frameworks, project cycles, crediting procedures, and methodologies. Participants will also explore innovative technologies and nature-based solutions aligned with Bangladesh’s decarbonization goals.

A business pitch session will feature companies showcasing JCM-relevant technologies and solutions, followed by individual consultation meetings to facilitate concrete project development between Japanese and Bangladeshi stakeholders.
