Title of Feasibility Study (FS) | Feasibility Study of Wastewater Treatment with Anaerobic Digester at Starch Processing Plant in Tay Ninh, Vietnam |
FY | FY 2007 |
Main Implementing Entity | TOSHIBA CORPORATION |
FS Partner(s) | TRUONG THINH CO., LTD |
Location of Project Activity | Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tay Ninh Province |
Summary of FS Report | Summary (PDF568KB) |
Description of Project Activity | This project involves reducing methane, that are emitted into the atmosphere from existing open lagoons, by installing anaerobic digester at a starch processing plant located in Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam. This project also involves reducing CO2 emissions from combustion of fossil fuel by using captured methane for generating heat energy and electricity. |
Targeted GHG | CH4, CO2 |
Category of Project Activity | Biomass utilisation |
CDM/JI | CDM |
Duration of Project Activity/ Crediting Period | Duration of the project activity : 11 years (2008~2019) / Crediting period: 10 years (2009~2019 ) |
Baseline Methodology/ Additionality |
|
Estimation of GHG Emission Reductions | Estimated emission reductions in the project activity are 24,294tCO2/yr and the amount of emission reductions through the crediting period will be 242,940tCO2. Estimated emission reductions of each component are shown below.
|
Monitoring Methodology | Monitoring methodology was planned based on the approved methodology of small scale CDM AMS-III.H., AMS-I.C. and AMS-I.D. Ex-post emission reductions are determined by measuring the methane captured and destroyed by the project activity |
Environmental Impact Analysis | Project overall impact on environment during construction and operation will not be negative and improved of the present environment situations.
|
Issues and Tasks for Project Realisation | The result of the feasibility study suggests that this project will be profitable with using CER. The following subjects should be confirmed for the project implementation.
