JICA Group Training

Commissioned by JICA, the GEC has carried out two training courses, in English and French, for Improvement of Urban Solid Waste Management (Emphasis on Collection, Transportation and Final Disposal), which is designed for engineering or administrative government officials in developing countries. The training course in French, newly started in FY2020, targets French-speaking African countries with few technical assistance opportunities in the field of solid waste management.

The FY2020 training courses were implemented by distance learning because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and training materials were provided online. Training in Japan in FY2021 for those participants who complete the distance learning is planned if the pandemic situation permits.

Objective
