Visit by the Penang Green Council, Penang State, Malaysia, and MOU Signing

On 17 September 2026, Ms. Josephine Tan Mei Ling, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Penang Green Council (PCG) in Penang, Malaysia, visited the GEC office. A signing ceremony was held for a Memorandum of Understanding* (MOU) regarding cooperation aimed at contributing to environmental conservation and the realisation of a sustainable society, initiated by both organisations.

The PGC is an organisation established by the Penang State Government in 2011 to lead and promote environmental initiatives across the state of Penang; the PGC is leading the ‘Penang Green Agenda’, which aims to realise a sustainable green state in Malaysia by 2030. Based on the signing of this MOU, GEC and PGC also held discussions regarding specific future collaboration and initiatives.
