Japanese version of the UNEP's GEO-3 (Global Environment Outlook3) synthesis
UNEP published the 3rd version of the GEO series on 22 May. 2002. GEO report series are produced using global network of collaborating center and input from the wide range of sources throughout the world. GEO reports have provided the information of the global environmental issues which human beings face to ring the alarm against the increasingly deteriorating environment.
GEO-3 describes the current issues of global environment, root cause and development of environmental policy, and emphasizes that the next 30 years will be as crucial as the past 30 years. GEO-3 uses the four scenarios to explore the prospect of future and proposes the global action to ensure the sustainable development, and also emphasizes on the importance to access necessary information as the fundamental basis.
