Host Country: ThailandJCM Feasibility Study (FS)

Heat Recovery for Generating both Cooling and Heating Energy

FS Entity: Mayekawa Manufacturing

Outline of GHG Mitigation Activity

A combination system with cooling by chillers and heating by boilers will be introduced to improve energy efficiency mainly in the food & beverage sector.

Draft JCM Methodology

Eligibility Criteria:
(1) A heat pump system with combination of cooling and heating, not mere heat pump
(2) The COP of the project heat pump is more than 3.0, which is the energy efficiency criterion Thai government adopts.

Reference Emissions:
(1) Based on the amount of energy generated by the project heat pump → Emissions from the same amount of energy when the reference facility operates; or
(2) Based on energy consumptions of the project heat pump → Calculated by the reference facility efficiency

Project Emissions:
Based on energy consumptions of the project heat pump system

Expected GHG Emission Reductions

← #1: 229tCO2/yr
 ← Heat pump x 2 sets
← Heating side: Heating Process line
 ← Cooling side: Air conditioning

← #2: 807tCO2/yr
 ← Heat pump x 5 sets
 ← Heating side: Hot water
 ← Cooling side: Chilled water
