GEC will hold two side events and an exhibit booth at the COP21 in Paris.

Side Event No. 1

Title: Advanced Technologies to Tackle Climate Change: Application of the JCM and Project Development

Date & Time: Monday 7, December 2015
Venue: Japan Pavilion
Organizers: GEC, Kansai Economic Federation (Kankeiren), Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center (OECC)
Theme:
It is necessary to cooperate with private sectors in order to facilitate diffusion of advanced low carbon technologies. The Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) aims to appropriately evaluate contributions from Japan for diffusion of these technologies to reduce GHG emissions in a quantitative manner. This event will introduce and discuss about the application of the JCM and JCM project development.

Title: The Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM): Achievements and current progress of project implementations

Date & Time: Friday, 11 December 2015 (11:30 - 13:00)
Venue: Observer room 03 , the Conference Centre (Blue Zone)
Organizers: GEC, Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center (OECC)
Theme:
The JCM is one of various approaches Japan and partner countries are jointly developing and implementing. The recent progress and expectations on the implementation of the JCM will be reported and discussed with representatives from JCM partner countries (Indonesia, Mongolia, Viet Nam, Bangladesh, etc).
